Slow Moves in this time of Quarantine

Using family labor, the work continues at the Stone House @ Red Barn

Like many of you, our every day seems to have found a rhythm in these strange times. Morning hikes alone as a family on the distant trails followed by Red Barn chores. It is a much quieter work environment and the jobs are not quite as intricate as before but every day seems like a small step forward.

Interested in the Stone House plans?

The Stone House @ Red Barn originally housed three small families on its three floors. I am only beginning to learn the history of the property but I heard that in the 20’s, stone was added to the original farmhouse. Evidently it was taken from another Harvey family home near or in what is now the Deep Creek State Park.

The renovated first floor will incorporate many of the beautiful and original elements from the farmhouse. We will be opening up the walls and adding a full kitchen into what was the dining room of the old house. The sunroom will remain as is but we will be adding a foosball table, flat screen, and a reading nook. There is an additional half bath on this floor as well.

Second floor view is lovely!

The second floor will see the most change as we will be removing the laundry room and changing the three bedrooms and two baths into four bedrooms and three baths. The beautiful 2nd floor patio will get a face lift but the pond view will remain fantastic!

Finally the Top!

The top floor of the Stone House will feature two additional bedrooms and an additional full bath. There is a small loft area with a lovely view where we will place a couple of comfy chairs for reading.

Small Steps Forward Continue

Until the end of our forced season of rest, we will not be able to make real progress but the future is exciting and we can not wait to share our progress with you!
